In recent weeks, a clip of Bruce Dickinson singing a few seconds of "Heaven and Hell," a Black Sabbath from the Ronnie James Dio , has gone viral on the internet.

Iron Maiden Brasil channel , the video is approaching 100,000 views, a total far exceeding that of the interview in which the iconic moment occurred. In a conversation with the Next Level Soul , the Iron Maiden praised Dio while recounting advice from Martin Birch , a producer who worked with both bands.

“[Dio] is one of the best of all time,” Dickinson commented before imitating the singer's voice in the opening verses of “Heaven and Hell,” the title track of Black Sabbath's first album with Dio on vocals.

The producer was equally strict with both artists when recording the title track for their respective albums. “You’re a singer, aren’t you, Ronnie? So it’s your whole life in two verses,” Birch advised, in Dickinson . These words influenced the outcome not only of “Heaven and Hell,” but also Maiden’s “The Number of the Beast.”
