In an interview given last Friday, Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson spoke about the importance of continuing to compose and play new music live, and not limiting themselves to just the classics, as other bands have done.

When asked why almost a third of the setlist for Iron Maiden's last show consisted of songs from The Book Of Souls , Bruce replied:

“If you take advantage of the fans by always playing the same old things on every tour, it’s to be expected that some of those fans won’t come back. That’s the band becoming a karaoke machine for itself. If you’re not composing new music, why keep playing it? We don’t like the idea of ​​filling stadiums just to play songs that are over 30 years old. It would only be about money.”.
