Bruce Dickinson , vocalist of Iron Maiden , once again fans to get vaccinated against COVID-19
The singer tested positive in August , just days after canceling dates on his recitation tour due to a close case. Even though he had received both doses of the vaccine, Dickinson experienced some symptoms and believes he “would have been in trouble” without the immunization.
“I would really warn people who say, ‘Oh, it’s just a flu.’ No, it’s not. And I know a lot of people who weren’t vaccinated – not because they didn’t want to, but because they were too young to be vaccinated initially. You know, 22, 23, 24-year-olds who couldn’t get out of bed for six to eight weeks after [COVID-19] – and they are very sick, ongoing,” he commented in an interview with Sirius XM (via Blabbermouth ).
The vocalist listed a series of possible side effects for COVID-19 survivors, such as diabetes and “problems with your brain.” But the emphasis was on one issue in particular: “I dare say it [can cause] even erectile dysfunction. There’s a good reason to get vaccinated, because [COVID] makes your penis shrink,” he said. “Because the blood vessels can get really inflamed, so (…) the extremities don’t get enough blood and, obviously, there’s an extremity that’s dear to our heart as a man, and if that doesn’t get enough blood, then, boy, you’re in a world of pain – or not.”.
According to the LA Times , erectile dysfunction is suspected as a side effect of the disease, and some patients have been diagnosed with this condition, but there is still no conclusive scientific research in this regard.
