Bruce Dickinson 's solo show , scheduled for Monday, the 3rd, in the Romanian capital, has been cancelled. The cancellation occurred due to unexpected health conditions of the artist and members of his band and crew.

In a statement posted on the singer's Instagram, the team expressed regret and announced that, with great sadness, Bruce Dickinson's show at the Arenele Romane in Bucharest has been cancelled with no new date scheduled for The Mandrake Project . Furthermore, the full amount of tickets purchased for this date will be refunded.

According to the announcement, part of the band and crew were affected by a flu-like virus since the beginning of the European leg of the tour. Therefore, the cancellation became unavoidable to ensure the health and safety of everyone involved. The team thanked the fans for their understanding.

Bruce Dickinson had already been experiencing symptoms of the viral infection during his recent shows

“During the London show, Bruce was already showing signs that he wasn’t well. He was able to complete the show in Paris, but near Groningen he was having difficulty singing at the level he and the fans expect. During last night’s show in Budapest, it became obvious that Bruce was seriously ill. And following advice, he now needs to rest completely to preserve his health and protect the rest of the tour ,” the official statement reads.

Bruce Dickinson explained the cancellation to his fans, admitting difficulties: “I’ve been straining my voice against a viral infection at the last few shows. I was hoping the two days after the shows in the Netherlands would have been enough for my vocals to rest, but the Budapest show was a real struggle. The audience has been fantastic, but I have a duty to take care of the rest of the tour and a responsibility to take care of my instrument … it’s the only one I have!”

The artist concluded the statement by saying that he is very sorry to have to make the decision to cancel the performance and that he did not expect this. Furthermore, the singer decided to consult with a throat specialist to confirm his decision.

For now, no other dates have been cancelled. The next show on the tour is scheduled for June 6th at the Mystic Festival in Poland. Bruce will be headlining the event.
