Brody Dalle confirmed that The Distillers will release a new studio album in 2019. In a social media post, the vocalist revealed that recording will begin in April.

The punk band announced a reunion in 2018 and their first shows in 14 years. In September, The Distillers released the double single “Man vs. Magnet / Blood In Gutters” , but there was no information about a new album until now. This will be their first album since Coral Fang (2003).
