Iron Maiden has two dates scheduled in Brazil for their The Future Past Tour 2024, but the band's legendary bassist, Steve Harris, will begin work earlier at Fabrique in São Paulo, one date before the Maiden's performances on December 5th.
However, this isn't Iron Maiden; it's British Lion, the band that already performed in Brazil in 2018 promoting their self-titled album and now returns to promote their latest album, The Burning .
But what can we expect from the shows in Brazil? Can we expect something related to Iron Maiden? The answer is simple… No!
British Lion has a totally different feel from Iron Maiden; British Lion sounds much more rock and roll, we could even say with a 70s and 80s vibe. Some tracks on the album sound like a fusion of classic rock riffs and even pop.
This band isn't made for the legion of Iron Maiden fans, as it has a completely different feel from Iron Maiden's usual riffs and heavier metal sound. Anyone expecting to get a taste of Iron Maiden at the show will be disappointed, as the British band's tours are generally focused entirely on their two albums.
Besides Harris, the band consists of Richard Taylor (vocals), David Hawkins (guitar and keyboards), Grahame Leslie (guitar), and Simon Dawson (drums).
The opening act for British Lion will be Tony Moore's Awake . But who is Tony Moore? Tony Moore worked with Iron Maiden in the band's early days as a keyboardist/synthesizer player in 1977.
Thus, the musician, with his solo work, was invited by his boss Steve Harris to tour with British Lion in South America, opening for shows including in São Paulo.
Tony Moore's has a very rock/pop feel in some tracks from his biggest hit single, "Let Your Heart Begin To Sing," from 2022.
Their latest album, Awake, Black Sabbath rock and roll riffs with heavier metal influences. I wasn't familiar with it and I liked what I heard from this album.
