The drummer from Bring Me The Horizon talked about the sound of the new album, Amo.
Matt Nicholls, drummer for Bring Me The Horizon, Heavy magazine about the new album Amo , to be released Friday, January 25th.
According to Matt, the band consciously tried to experiment with new sounds. “I don’t think we tried to make this album full of heavy songs. With That's The Spirit , we wanted to make an album of just singles. With this one, we went into the studio and tried different directions. We did what we wanted to do, fun things. We made a conscious effort to experiment.”
To achieve this, the band used a lot of electronic influences. “We are fans of this type of music. We don't want to limit ourselves. When keyboardist Jordan Fish joined the band, a whole new world of fans opened up, and so did what we could do with the music. Many bands are afraid to change. They find a comfort zone and stay there. We are confident enough to experiment in this way,” he added.
