Bring Me The Horizon performed in São Paulo on Thursday night, the 28th, for a select audience of about 3,000 fans at the Audio concert hall. The performance served as a warm-up for the band's biggest career show, which will take place next Saturday, the 30th, at Allianz Parque, with an expected audience of over 30,000 people. Motionless in White , Spiritbox , and The Plot in You .
In 2024, the band led by Oli Sykes will celebrate 20 years of their career, amidst a true rollercoaster of highs and lows. In December, they ended their long-standing partnership with keyboardist and producer Jordan Fish , further delaying the production of their second album in the POST HUMAN , which had already been in development for about 3 years.
After many difficulties and delays, the group finally POST HUMAN: NeX GeN at the end of May , the long-awaited successor to the acclaimed SURVIVOR HORROR . The album was well-received by critics and featured collaborations with Underoath , Lil Uzi Vert , Aurora , and more.
On Thursday night, Bring Me The Horizon also started late. The show, scheduled for 9 pm, began around 9:30 pm. But all was immediately forgiven when the opening chords of "Darkside" caused the audience to open the first of many mosh pits of the night.
Bring Me The Horizon shows why they performed for a select audience.
Throughout the performance, it became increasingly clear why Bring Me The Horizon decided to perform for a select audience right before the biggest show of their career. Audio rocked all night with fans jumping, opening mosh pits, and singing every song at the top of their lungs. That kind of energy and connection is hard to replicate in a packed stadium. It's in smaller spaces that heavy music truly comes alive. The show was a perfect fusion of artist and audience, and the performance was a real gift for both.
The setlist doesn't differ much from what should be presented on Saturday night, featuring tracks from the last two albums (including the live debut of "n/A"). It also includes favorites from Sempiternal (2013) and That's The Spirit (2015), such as "Shadow Moses," "Sleepwalking," "Doomed," and "Drown." Shortly before "Follow You," Oli Sykes declared to the audience that he had fallen in love with the Brazilian people. The vocalist is married to model and singer Alissa Salls, resides in Brazil, and obtained his CPF (Brazilian tax identification number) a few years ago.
With an explosive setlist and the electrifying energy of the fans, Bring Me The Horizon earned a night to take a step back in time. And to relive the memory of the unparalleled energy contained in smaller shows. Saturday night promises many surprises and an unforgettable milestone in the band's career, but the decision to dedicate a night to a small venue shows that it is in these small spaces that they truly enjoy playing. And also where they prove what they do best.
