The track will be the guitarist's first solo single in 20 years

Brian May will combine his two passions, music and astronomy, to release the unreleased track "New Horizons" on January 1, 2019, directly from NASA's control room.

The single will be the first that the Queen guitarist has released since “Why Don't We Try Again” in 1998. The track is a tribute to the New Horizons , whose spacecraft will reach its farthest point in the New Year.

“This project has given me a new energy. For me, it’s very exciting to combine two parts of my life, music and astronomy,” said the musician, who also holds a doctorate in astrophysics, to the NME .
