Following the box office success of Bohemian Rhapsody Queen biopic , guitarist and founding member Brian May will test his acting skills.
Despite the news, it may be a while before we see May on the big screen. The musician will make his debut in the children's series Andy and The Band BBC children's channel . His character will be the "Godfather of Rock" in an episode that will air on the CBeebies on January 27th, but will be available on BBC iPlayer from January 24th.
According to NME , Brian May initially rejected the offer but changed his mind after reading the script. "It was very exciting because it's a great story," May reportedly told PA News Agency . "It has a beautiful look at what happens to children and how they lose their self-confidence and what can be done about it."
Queen's guitarist will also perform a previously unreleased song called "Planet Rock" during the episode. He didn't write the track, but May said he "contributed" to it.
