Brian May , guitarist for Queen , helped an 8-year-old boy find his lost guitar near a subway station.
Emerson Liu Bancroft lost his guitar while taking public transport in mid-January. May then went to Instagram and shared a post from her friend and actress Mazz Murray . She found the guitar on January 14th.
“Someone (a child) lost this. I found this guitar outside Edgware tube station. A poor kid being mistreated right now. Let’s try to reunite them,” Murray wrote, then tagging Brian May of Queen in his post.
Brian May used his social media to share the story: “Anyone out there lose a guitar – in a case like this – outside the #edgware tube station (sorry – not Edgware Road)?” May wrote, then asking questions about the contents of the case, May sought to see if he had a legitimate question.
After some time, May celebrated the success of the plan to find the guitar's owner: “YES!!! I’m a little late to post this, but… yes – we managed to reunite the lost guitar with its owner – a young man named Emerson – who will one day surprise us all!! Thank you Evening Standard for this article. Thanks to the fearsome @mazzmurraypor for really pushing this happy story forward – and thank you to all of you who helped spread the word. Social media as a thing has its upsides!”
