"Freddie Mercury would both love and hate it," said the guitarist
Since 2011, Adam Lambert has been the lead vocalist for the legendary band Queen . For some, the newcomer hasn't quite lived up to the iconic Freddie Mercury's , but for others, he does a great job.
For guitarist Brian May , Lambert's voice is unique and its quality is unquestionable. "I've never worked with anyone with the range he has. I've seen Adam develop and improve just as I saw Freddie do," he said during an interview with Yahoo.
May also reveals that Mercury would “love him and hate him, because Adam has undeniable talent.” He even compared the two vocalists, saying that Lambert doesn't try to imitate the iconic Mercury and improvises in a way that “provides the missing piece of the puzzle.” “Sometimes I just stop playing and think, ‘What did he just do?’,” he joked.
Adam Lambert first sang with Brian May and company when he reached the final of the eighth season of American Idol. There, Adam and another finalist, Kris Allen , sang "We Are The Champions," and shortly after the episode, Queen invited Lambert to participate in their new tour.
