Brian May releases music video for his first solo song in 20 years

“New Horizons” is the merging of two aspects of Brian May’s life – astronomy and music

Queen guitarist Brian May has released the official video for his first solo song in 20 years. "New Horizons," written by May and Don Black , was recorded in December.

The song had its international premiere at NASA headquarters on January 1st. “New Horizons” is May's tribute to NASA's New Horizons mission. The mission will send a spacecraft on the farthest flight in history, past Pluto, at the edge of the Solar System.

Brian May, who holds a doctorate in astrophysics, will be present during the event, scheduled for New Year's 2019. He said the project "energized me in a new way. It was an exciting challenge to bring together two sides of my life – astronomy and music.".
