Lead singer writes that a tour is "very likely"
On his official website , AC/DC vocalist Brian Johnson stated that AC/DC should be touring sometime in 2014. In a text about his time on the TV series "Cars That Rock," in which Johnson hosted a show about cars, the vocalist says that "it's very likely" that the band will hit the road in 2014.
Johnson writes thanking fans for their support of the program:
“I want to thank everyone for the compliments. Your encouragement means a lot to me. This was my first attempt at hosting a show and, as unlikely as it may seem, I was really nervous, so it was great to me that you enjoyed it. We hope to bring you more shows in the near future, but there are distractions with my day-to-day work with AC/DC, and it seems very likely that we will be on the road before the end of this year. So look forward to more music and more 'Cars That Rock'. Thank you.”
Johnson's statement is a relief for fans, as Malcolm Young's illness has created uncertainty about AC/DC's future. In April, the band stated that the founding guitarist was taking time off from his activities and that AC/DC would continue working on new music. Unconfirmed rumors suggest that Malcolm and Angus's nephew, Stevie Young, is recording guitar on the new album.
AC/DC is currently in the studio with producer Brendan O'Brien, who worked with the band on their last album, "Black Ice".
