Brazilian rock and metal bands you need to listen to: Krafter, Mandraz, and Patria.

Check out our new selection of Brazilian bands for you to discover!

While some people believe that rock is dead or that Brazilian music is limited to the most popular styles, national rock and heavy metal bands constantly prove otherwise, despite all the challenges and, unfortunately, lack of support from the local audience.

As part of Wikimetal to build bridges and promote the national scene to the rock and metal community, we bring you another National Pride with bands you need to listen to: KRAFTER, Mandraz , and Patria.

KRAFTER

With two singles already released, “WTF” and “Get Over Here” , the Rio de Janeiro/Minas Gerais band draws inspiration from groups like Wage War , I Prevail and Architects to create their own modern metal.

“WTF”, the band's latest single, is about “mental insanity and disconnection from reality”. KRAFTER explains that the instrumental was created to be heavy and striking, while the vocals feature clean melodies without abandoning the scream sound.

KRAFTER is formed by Rafael Dias (vocals) and Adriano Carvalho (guitar). The duo is currently working on promoting their single and preparing their next singles.

Mandrake

The band Mandraz , led by drummer Daniel Berrettini and bassist G. Cross, worked on their debut EP with guest artists such as vocalist João Luiz ( Golpe de Estado, ex-King Bird and Casa das Máquinas ) and guitarists Alexandre Fabbri and Marcello Schevanno ( Golpe de Estado, Carro Bomba ).

The Mandraz presents heavy rock in Portuguese with an 80s feel, entirely produced by the band itself. Audio recording and mixing were handled by Gustavo Barcellos , and mastering by José Maron.

As with all their singles, the EP features the band's mascot, the Mandraz owl. "The owl, with its mystical and observant nature, defines the band's philosophy, which is critical and attentive to human behavior and society," explains G. Cross.

Homeland

Inspired by black metal and the mythology that usually accompanies it, the band Patria has released their sixth studio album. Hexerei , which means witchcraft in German, features several special appearances by friends and colleagues of the band.

In a statement released to the press, guitarist Mantus explained the reason for choosing the name: “We chose this title because the lyrics and music [of the album] are enveloped in this mythical and ritualistic atmosphere.”

Patria consists of Mantus (guitar), Tsword (vocals), Ristow (guitar), Vulkan (bass), and Abyssius (bass).
