While some people believe that rock is dead or that Brazilian music is limited to the most popular styles, national rock and heavy metal bands constantly prove otherwise, despite all the challenges and, unfortunately, lack of support from the local audience.
As part of Wikimetal to build bridges and promote the national scene to the rock and metal community, we bring you another National Pride with bands you need to listen to: Violência Moral, My Friend is a Gray , and Caian .
Moral Violence
Inspired by heavy metal music, the band Violência Moral delivers a heavy metal sound with a touch of hardcore. Hailing from Ribeirão Preto, in the interior of São Paulo state, the group formed in 2010 and has since been creating songs with social, political, and religious themes.
The band's first full-length release came in 2015 with the album WWS (Worldwide Suicide) , and now, you can listen to Violência Moral's latest single below. The group delivers a very heavy sound with "Quimera".
Violência Moral is formed by Eduardo Muralha (vocals), Guilherme de Paula (guitar), João Oliveira (guitar), Marcelo Oliveira (bass) and Leonardo Sampaio (drums).
My friend is a gray

Formed in 2015, My Friend is a Gray has a wild history spanning stoner rock, doom metal, and sludge metal. On March 25th, the group from Bahia released Jasoom , a new audiovisual EP.
In their discography, the band has the album "Tasca," released in 2018, and two other singles ("The Guy In A Wheelchair Said" and "Roswell"), and is currently finishing their second work, which will feature 16 tracks to be released in four parts as a visual EP.
My Friend is a Gray consists of André Gallo (guitar), Derlei Magalhães (drums), Marcos Cupertino (vocals/guitar), Tomaz Loureiro (bass), and Rafael Muñoz (programming/synth).
Caian

The musician, composer, and singer from Bahia, Caian, showcases the diverse facets of rock in the song "Não Me Deixe Mudo" (Don't Leave Me Mute), which is part of the album Paixão e Outras Drogas (Passion and Other Drugs) , his second album.
The song, which opens the album, is an introduction of the musician to the public. “The title 'Don't Leave Me Speechless' refers to a song by Walter Franco , 'Leave Me Speechless': I wanted to break the silence, to speak about who I am and what I've lived.”
In addition to composing and singing the track, Caian plays guitars, 12-string acoustic guitar, and keyboards, along with Lefer (bass), Maurício Braga (drums), and Rafael Fraga (tambourine). The arrangements are by Caian, Eric Budney , and Maurício Braga, with musical production by Arthur Romio.
