Brazilian guitarist Johnatha Bastos doesn't have arms, but he can easily play inspiring guitar solos. He perfectly performed Guns N' Roses' and did much more with the instrument because he does it with his feet.
Last week, Bastos' performance was featured on Masters of Shred Slash 's unmistakable intro but also performs the entire song with fluidity.
“A round of applause for the Super Human Shred Extraordinaire of Brazil, the Mighty @jbastosoficial,” shared Masters of Shred on Thursday, the 10th. The caption is from a video of the musician performing.
The dedication and focus on the guitar while playing Guns N' Roses shows how Bastos is "proving that nothing is impossible as he makes the guitar sing with a jaw-dropping solo... with his feet! This guy can achieve more vibrato with his feet than many musicians can with their fingers!".
Playing guitar with your feet, especially for those without arms, is not a new phenomenon. However, it is still quite uncommon to see. In the past, musicians like the Nicaraguan Christian artist Tony Meléndez , who also has no arms, built their careers based on the talent of their feet as guitarists.
But regardless of who is performing, taking a skill that can normally be performed with the hands and adapting it to the feet is a formidable achievement in itself. For those who have neither hands nor arms, mastering this technique is truly a remarkable display of spirit.
