Limp Bizkit 's historic show at Allianz Parque in São Paulo last Saturday, the 20th, was when Brazilian fan Bia Marcato went up on stage to sing along with the band.
In an interview with the website TMDQA!, Bia Marcato recounted in detail what it was like to be invited by Fred Durst to sing "Full Nelson" in front of thousands of people.
“I arrived at the stadium around 3 PM and I wasn't right by the barrier, but I was pretty close. I could see Wes [ Borland ] and Fred [Durst] clearly. It wasn't planned that I would go up there. I went with a sign and a lot of persistence. The sign is right here, asking if I can sing 'Full Nelson' with them. I made this sign a week before the show, totally without any expectation of it working, and I was persistent. When Wes came close, and Fred too, I showed them: 'Oh, I'm here, call me up.'”
"Honestly, I don't even remember much, because it was all so emotional," reveals Bia
Bia reported that her rise to the stage was the result of creativity, courage, and persistence: she entered the stadium holding a sign asking to sing the song with the band and didn't give up on showing the message to the vocalist and guitarist whenever she could.
“When he went to ask if anyone wanted to go up, I ended up squeezing in, I went to the barrier and I said, 'me, me'. He asked if I knew the lyrics, if I was sure, I said, 'oh yeah, for sure, I'm totally ready'”. Upon reaching the stage, Fred Durst asked where she was from. “Then I went up, honestly I don't even remember much, because it was so emotional. I don't know where that Brazil came from,” she said.
“I forgot my name, I forgot where I came from, my city, who I was, I was just there. I ended up letting go in the middle of the song. When the song started I couldn't hear anything, so I was kind of lost at the beginning. But then Fred showed me that there was something in front of me that you could read the lyrics on. So that helped me a little, but it was more towards the end.”
Her experience resonated on social media, becoming one of the most talked-about topics about the show. “It was really cool. I don’t know, I just wanted to have fun, I wasn’t worried about whether I was singing well or not. I was euphoric,” confessed Bia.
Limp Bizkit delivers one of the best shows of the year.
The band's performance was a celebration of nu metal, a genre they helped solidify in the late 1990s, in a moment of emotion, nostalgia, and tribute to bassist Sam Rivers , a founding member of the band, who died on October 18th at the age of 48.
That night, Limp Bizkit delivered a show that spanned different phases of their career, balancing acclaimed classics with moments of high intensity on stage. The setlist included obligatory hits such as "Break Stuff" (which opens and closes the shows), "Nookie," "My Generation," "Rollin'," and "Take a Look Around," tracks that encourage singing, jumping, and an intense exchange of energy between the band and the fans.
Limp Bizkit closes out the rock concert schedule by making it onto the list of the best of 2025, proving their relevance and the rise of the Nu metal style.
