Karl Logan was removed from the band after being arrested for possession of child pornography.
Manowar announced on their Facebook page that Brazilian EV Martel will be the guitarist for their Final Battle .
Martel will replace Karl Logan after his arrest for possession of child pornography in August of this year. According to police records, Logan, 53, faces six charges for possessing material depicting minors engaged in sexual activity.
The $35,000 bail was paid on the day of the arrest, but when the story became public, the band revealed that the guitarist would no longer perform with them.
Logan joined Manowar in 1994, replacing David Shankle , who had been in the group since 1989. He recorded four studio albums with the band.
EV Martel played for years in a Manowar tribute band and will join the band on February 25th when they perform in Tel Aviv, Israel. The tour will visit more than 28 European cities.
“I can’t think of anyone more deserving to play in Manowar than a fan himself, someone who has dedicated his entire life to our fans and our music. He has proven to be a true Manowarrior!” said bassist Joey DeMaio .
