Let's go!
Raising Conviction
Raising Conviction was formed in 2014 in Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais, with the purpose of making heavy music, and they certainly did just that. Their recently released debut album, A New Beginning showcases the power of Minas Gerais rock.
The band's influences range from metalcore, deathcore, thrash metal, nu metal, and death metal. These subgenres serve only as inspiration, as Raising Conviction possesses a unique sound.
Raising Conviction consists of Julimar Fernandes (vocals), Peter Roberto (guitar), Raul Duarte (guitar), Vinnie Santos (bass), and Alexandre Oliveira (drums). Listen to the album A New Beginning below.
Alter ego
The São Paulo-based band Alterego blends punk and, about to release their second album, they vent against routine in "Não Mais que Hoje" (No More Than Today), a track inspired by the film Falling Down.
“'No More Than Today' is a collection of ideas to express a day when you're bursting with anger at the wrong daily routine we live in, but tomorrow it will all be the same again, so explode and tomorrow it goes back to 'normal',” says vocalist and guitarist Mário Coda.
In addition to him, Luis Henrique (bass) and Macel Teixeira (drums) complete the trio. Watch the music video for "Não Mais que Hoje" below.
Pentral
Hailing straight from Pará, the group Pentral recently released the music video for "Letters From Nowhere," a track from their debut album What Lies Ahead of Us , released in May of this year.
For guitarist and vocalist Victor Lima , the new video presents yet another emotional song from the power trio. "It's an acoustic and electric song at the same time, where one of the premises was the creation of varied layers throughout the song," he said in a statement to the press.
