As part of Wikimetal to build bridges and promote the national scene to the rock and metal community, we bring you another National Pride with bands you need to listen to, from different corners of Brazil!
This time, our selection features bands that started their careers during the pandemic and are still in their early stages of releasing music, but who already show enormous potential and should be closely watched by rock and metal fans. Let's go!
Infinity of Thoughts
Infinity of Thoughts is a newly formed ambient black metal band comprised of musician Valak , who is also a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist responsible for recording all the instruments on the project's debut album.
Still less than a year old, the band from Osasco (SP) has already released the album When The Winter Ends , their debut. It features six instrumental tracks with a dark and melancholic sound that invite the audience on an immersive journey sonically influenced by bands such as Nargaroth, Lustre, Summoning, Thy Light, and Emperor, which gave the project its name.
Wrong Side
The band Lado Errado, from Joinville (SC), made a strong debut with the single "Ritual," their only release so far. Formed in 2020, the band features members with interesting backgrounds, as they themselves describe: vocalist Lucas Scaravelli has played in death metal bands, drummer Dani Fernandes has a "heavy hand and light ideas," bassist Tiago Pospissil also works in mixing, and guitarists Alan Calahani and Rodrigo Schwarz prefer to maintain their individuality in their songs.
The first single playfully explores occultism in the best style of the surreal narratives of Edgar Allan Poe, H.P. Lovecraft , and Charles Baudelaire , demonstrating enough power to put the band on the radar of new Brazilian groups deserving attention in the scene. Currently, the band is working on new original compositions.
Hatred Incarnate
Brazilian death metal gains momentum with the debut of Hatred Incarnated, a duo formed in September 2020. With their self-titled debut single released this year, the band, comprised of Lucas Bittencourt (composer, guitarist, and bassist) and Vinicius Garcia (vocals and lyrics), features guest drummer Victor Mendonça in a preview of what's to come, with plans to release an EP in 2022.
