International bands will always be in our hearts and headphones, but when we're talking about rock and heavy metal, Brazil is undoubtedly a sea full of incredible bands that, unfortunately, don't receive the attention they deserve.

With that in mind, the Wikimetal is always looking for national bands to showcase to our readers. Today we've selected three bands: As The Palaces Burn, Tantum , and Desalmado.

1) As The Palaces Burn debuted the band's new phase with the song "For The Weak," the first single from their new studio album. In it, the group showcases a sound geared towards modern metal.

“'For The Weak' is a sample of what we're going to bring on the new album. The track addresses the general crisis of human existence and mental fatigue combined with an existential crisis,” explains guitarist Diego Bittencourt. “Expect a modern and sophisticated album!” emphasizes vocalist Alyson Garcia.

The new album is scheduled to be released later this year.

2) Formed in Belo Horizonte in 2019, the band Tantum presents its influences coming directly from the 70s and 80s in "Wicked Spirit". The song, which was released in June, is one of the group's first original compositions.

Tantum is made up of Derik Serpa (guitar), Laer (bass), Lucão (drums) and Chervona (vocals).

3) The Brazilian death grind quartet Desalmado has released the second single from their upcoming album, which still has no release date or title announced. “Hollow” features a special guest appearance by Argentinian alternative music singer Noelia Recalde.

Formed in 2004, Desalmado is currently at the forefront of the São Paulo underground scene and has performed at a wide variety of national festivals.
