Brant Bjork , founder of Kyuss, will perform on October 17th at Fabrique Club.

Brazil will host, for the first time, a single show in São Paulo, featuring the legend of Stoner Rock and one of the creators of the style, Californian musician Brant Bjork ! Founder of the influential and legendary Kyuss , Brant will play on October 17th at Fabrique Club, and tickets are already on sale. The event is produced by Abraxas, Powerline, and Obscur.

It is from the arid climate of Palm Desert, California, that Brant Bjork emerged decades ago and has remained one of the creative minds behind so-called Stoner Rock – or Desert Rock, due to its origins in the live music parties organized by Brant and his friends in the Californian deserts in the early 90s, which lasted until dawn fueled by lots of rock and roll and drugs, and became known as generator parties.

It was in this environment of intense psychedelia and almost endless jam sessions that Brant Bjork participated in the creation and contributed his groovy drumming to legendary bands such as Kyuss (with Josh Homme , who later founded Queens of the Stone Age , and other names like John Garcia and Nick Olivieri ), Fu Manchu , and Vista Chino , in addition to an extensive discography released under the various incarnations of his solo project, where he acts as frontman (vocals and guitar) alongside other musicians from the Palm Desert scene.

Sean Wheeler , another desert rock legend, is Björk's special guest on this South American tour, which, in addition to Brazil, includes Chile and Argentina. Wheeler rose to fame in the 1990s as the vocalist/guitarist for Throw Rag , but he boasts an extensive and impressive discography that began to take shape in the 1980s.

The show is a joint initiative of the production companies Abraxas, Obscur., and Powerline, and promises to be a memorable night for both fans of the artist and those curious about this musical genre (or is it a lifestyle?) that is increasingly gaining space in the Brazilian music scene.

For this special show, the producers will be doing something unprecedented: the opening band will be chosen through a selection process, which will even include a live performance phase. More details will be revealed soon.
