Incubus is set to return with a new studio album. After an eight-year hiatus, the alternative rock quintet is expected to release their ninth album in mid-October.

Vocalist Brandon Boyd confirmed the release in his latest interview with FluxFM [transcription via Metal Sucks ]: “We actually finished the album, I think, a little over two months ago. And it’s kind of mastered, mixed, ready to go. We’re working on the artwork for it. The sad part about finishing the album these days is that, as much as I’d love to just release it; I’d love to release it tomorrow, and we could release it tomorrow, but it would get lost in the internet mess, you know what I mean? We’re going to do some setup work for it and it’ll probably come out in October.”

The new album was produced by Brendan O'Brian , a longtime collaborator of the band who previously produced three albums between 2004 and 2011. Brandon also commented on this partnership: “He’s my favorite producer I’ve ever worked with, and I’m very happy that we were able to engage with him again for this experience. It happened very quickly, which is always a good sign for us. When an album is made, like, fast, it means we’ve entered a state of flow.”

Incubus has confirmed two shows in Brazil. One in Curitiba on April 8th at Live Curitiba, and another in São Paulo on April 10th at Espaço Unimed. Tickets are on sale at the official Tickets For Fun website and at official points of sale.
