"It is with profound sadness that we share the news that Brad Arnold, founder, vocalist and songwriter of 3 Doors Down, passed away on Saturday, February 7th, at the age of 47. Alongside his beloved wife Jennifer and his family, Brad passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by loved ones, after his courageous battle with cancer."

As a founding member, vocalist, and original drummer of 3 Doors Down, Brad helped redefine mainstream rock, combining the accessibility of post-grunge with emotionally direct songwriting and lyrics that resonated with a broad audience. His songwriting became a true cultural landmark for a generation, giving rise to some of the biggest and most enduring hits of the 2000s—including the hit that propelled the band to worldwide fame, Kryptonite ,” which he composed at the age of 15 during a math class. His music resonated far beyond the stage, creating moments of connection, joy, faith, and shared experiences that will remain alive long after his performances.

Above all, Brad was a devoted husband to Jennifer. His kindness, sense of humor, and generosity deeply touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Those closest to him will remember not only his talent, but also his humanity, humility, faith, and the profound love he had for his family and friends. The family is immensely grateful for the expressions of affection and support received during this difficult time and kindly requests that their privacy be respected. Brad Arnold will be greatly missed and remembered forever.”.
