Fans of 1980s hard rock can now delve into the complete and uncensored history of the genre's explosion with the book Nothin' But a Good Time , recently released in Brazil by Estética Torta .

The journey of 1980s hard rock and hair metal is recounted in the book by musicians and industry experts who experienced that scene firsthand, known for being "a hedonistic and often intensely creative source of escapism that perfectly encapsulated – and perhaps even helped define – a spectacularly over-the-top decade," as described in the book's publicity.

Written by Tom Beaujour and Richard Bienstock , the book chronicles the movement from its early days, through its glory years with anthems that rocked stadiums and ballads topping the charts, to its sudden end with the emergence of grunge. It features testimonials from musicians, managers, producers, sound engineers, record label executives, advertisers, stylists, costume designers, photographers, journalists, magazine editors, music video directors, bar owners, roadies, groupies, and other figures from this universe.

Furthermore, the book features a foreword by Corey Taylor , vocalist of Slipknot , and was compiled from over 200 previously unpublished interviews with members of Van Halen, Mötley Crüe, Poison, Guns N' Roses, Skid Row, Bon Jovi, Ratt, Twisted Sister, Winger, Warrant, Cinderella, Quiet Riot, Stryper , as well as Ozzy Osbourne, Lita Ford , and many others.
