Last Friday, the 19th, marked 41 years since the tragic death of the legendary Bon Scott . And in an interview recently shared online, the musician reveals how his story with AC/DC officially began.

The conversation took place between Scott and journalist Ray Lancaster , who interviewed the musician for his college newspaper on October 29, 1976, at Town Hall in Birmingham, United Kingdom. The 25-minute conversation is surprisingly relaxed between interviewer and interviewee, who revealed, among other topics discussed, how he was hired by AC/DC.

The musician recalls with laughter the job he had when he was "between bands," that is, while he was looking for a new group to play with. He was hired by an agency to drive bands to shows around the city for $10 a night.

“This was the first band I worked with,” he said, probably referring to AC/DC, “And they knew I was kind of a ‘screamer’ and they knew I was unemployed and they hated the guy who was singing for them at the time, so they offered me a job.”

When asked if he always knew he would be a rock 'n' roll singer, Scott replies thoughtfully, "I always knew I wasn't a working man."
