The film titled The Kid From Harvest Road , inspired by the life of Bon Scott , the late lead singer of AC/DC , is in pre-production.

Despite featuring Bon Scott as the protagonist, the film will not be a classic biography of the singer who led AC/DC before Brian Johnson replaced him – precisely because of his untimely death at the band's peak.

Bon Scott's portrayal in the film

The production companies HALO Films and Protocol Pictures , responsible for the project, announced that the film The Kid From Harvest Road will not be an exact biography of Bon Scott, but rather a fictional narrative that explores Scott's character and his experiences in his youth during the 1960s in a more creative way.

The statement released on the production companies' websites says that "Focusing on Scott's formative years in Fremantle [a city in Australia] allows for a deeper dive into the influences and events that shaped him as a person and, ultimately, as the iconic AC/DC vocalist. It also offers an opportunity to explore the cultural landscape of the time, including the burgeoning music scene and the social dynamics of the era." (via HALO Films )

Screenwriter Stephen Belowsky also stated: “I was truly inspired by his charismatic character, but what interested me most was his childhood and not the caricature we all know from the stage” (via RockBizz )

The producers made it clear that the goal of the film is to approach the story with more creative freedom while still honoring the essence of Scott's journey.

As for the cast, something always highly anticipated in biopics, Australian actor Lee Tiger Halley Netflix series Boy Swallows Universe , was chosen to play Bon Scott.

Despite the announcements and expectations, The Kid From Harvest Road will only begin filming in early 2025.
