At 59, Jon Bon Jovi isn't thinking about retirement yet, but he also doesn't imagine himself on the road for many more years. In an interview on the show Conversa com Bial , the musician explained how the Rolling Stones serve as a benchmark.
“I have to say that I still look at Mick Jagger as a benchmark for where we should stop. I'm waiting for the Stones to retire one day, just so I know where it ends,” he said. “They keep postponing it, postponing it, and they do it at an incredible level.” Despite the almost unattainable milestone set by his idols, the vocalist doesn't believe he “will be able to want to continue doing this for as long as he does.”
Bon Jovi released their fifteenth studio album, titled 2020 , last December, but have yet to have the opportunity to tour in support of the record. “I have no idea how they reacted to it. I haven’t been able to play for anyone,” he lamented. “I think when I make a record, I’ll want to perform a few times. Maybe not 100 times on a world tour, but I want to be able to play in front of people. (…) If I were to say that it’s over at this moment, today, that’s it, it would be a little unsatisfying.”
