Jon Bon Jovi: vocal cord problems

Diagnosed with atrophy in one of his vocal cords, Jon Bon Jovi underwent a surgery called "medialization" in 2022 with the goal of improving his condition. The vocalist revealed this during a panel about the documentary series Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story :

“One of my vocal cords was atrophied, but they should be parallel. Let's pretend one is as thick as my thumb and the other is as thick as my little finger. Therefore, the stronger one was pushing the weaker one aside. And I wasn't singing well, my art was being taken away from me.”

“I just want to get back to doing two and a half hours a night, four nights a week, before I really go on tour,” says the vocalist on the 2024 Pollstar Live! “But I have confidence in my doctor,” he adds.
