A video of Bon Jovi singing "Wanted Dead or Alive" off-key at a recent concert has sparked much discussion on social media about a possible retirement for the musician and the reasons behind his difficulty in hitting certain notes.

Justin Hawkins , lead singer of the band The Darkness , analyzed recent live videos of Bon Jovi to discuss the situation based on his own experience as a singer. In Hawkins' view, there is "fatigue" in the musician's voice, and the issue should be addressed by professionals as soon as possible.

“My career isn’t as long or as big as Jon Bon Jovi’s. Even at the level we’ve experienced, if you’re in a situation like that and you can’t deliver the performance and you can’t give your audience what they deserve, that’s horrible – it’s a horrible feeling – and you don’t like touring in that condition; you just want to go home. And I hope he’s feeling the same way, really,” he said (via Blabbermouth ).

Justin Hawkins' advice to Jon Bon Jovi would be to slow down, take care of his voice, and only return when the situation is resolved. “There must be a huge machine around the band that's preventing him from leaving the scene, which is what needs to happen, I think. I mean, I'm not talking about stopping forever,” he explained. “And I feel like the people around him need to tell him to take a break. It must be difficult when… I suppose if you're afraid of being fired, I suppose it's difficult to talk to a singer in that way. I don't know what the dynamics are in their organization, but I think if I were working for Jon Bon Jovi and I cared about the 'brand,' I would ask him to consider canceling the tour and getting medical attention.”
