Bohemian Rhapsody soundtrack by the Petrobras Symphony Orchestra.
Bohemian Rhapsody , the highly successful Queen biopic, will have its soundtrack performed with an orchestra in São Paulo. The Petrobras Symphony Orchestra will present a new version of the soundtrack, conducted by Felipe Prazeres and with arrangements by Alexandre Caldi. The concert, featuring 31 musicians, will take place at Allianz Parque in São Paulo on June 29th.
Freddie Mercury and his bandmates Brian May, Roger Taylor , and John Deacon changed the world of music by forming the band Queen during the 1970s. Narrating the story of one of the leading rock groups of the era, from its creation to Mercury's death, the film Bohemian Rhapsody was a critical and commercial success, winning four Academy Awards.
In a symphonic version, the Petrobras Orchestra will bring to the Allianz Parque Hall stage songs that are part of the film's soundtrack. Among them are "Bohemian Rhapsody," a song written by Freddie for the album A Night at the Opera ; "Love of My Life," which is also from the same album and was performed by the band at the first edition of the Rock in Rio Festival, being remembered as one of the most memorable moments of the event; "Under Pressure," which marked the partnership between Queen and David Bowie ; "We Are the Champions," considered the band's most successful song; as well as "Don't Stop Me Now," "We Will Rock You," among others.
The concert is part of a series of initiatives by the Petrobras Symphony Orchestra to popularize classical music and renew the genre's audience. Also in this vein, on June 30th, the OPES will present a concert of Metallica 's Black Album .
