Director was fired after problems on set.
Dexter Fletcher has been hired to direct the film Bohemian Rhapsody , which will tell the story of Queen's frontman, Freddie Mercury.
Director Bryan Singer, famous for his work on X-Men , was fired by Twentieth Century Fox when he failed to return to the set after the American Thanksgiving holiday on November 23rd.
According to sources close to the production, this wasn't the only problem with the director. Witnesses say that Singer was acting aggressively from the beginning of filming and argued with actor Rami Malek, who plays Mercury, and threw objects at him, trying to hurt him.
Singer released a statement regarding his dismissal, revealing that he had no issues with Malek and claiming that the studio fired him simply for taking a temporary leave of absence to prioritize his health and the health of his family.
Dexter Fletcher has previously directed Wild Bill (2011), Sunshine on Leith (2013), and most recently Eddie the Eagle (2016).
Bohemian Rhapsody is scheduled to be released on December 25, 2018.
