The hardware is called Floppotron
Queen 's anthem "Bohemian Rhapsody" has had all sorts of covers since its release in 1975. The latest one stars a variety of old computer hardware – drives, printers, modems and more. All programmed to generate music through the sound of their mechanical movements.
Self-confessed "computer geek, electronics enthusiast, and software engineer," Pawel Zdrozniak created the Floppotron to play music. His Queen cover is his 98th release.
“The story began in 2011 when I created the first video of two floppy disk drives playing the 'Imperial March' from Star Wars,” Zadrozniak wrote on social media. “It was a simple and fun electronic project that took me only a few hours to make and program. The video went viral with over 5 million views. I decided to go further and create larger machines. That's how the Floppotron was born.”
