Body Count members Ernie C and Vincent Price were interviewed by Loudwire before their performance at Chicago Open Air and spoke about the band's latest album, Bloodlust . When asked about the media praise the album has received, Price commented:
“Finally, the band is being recognized for its good music and not for our skin color or anything like that. Finally, they understood that we are good musicians and good songwriters. And now we have an album that represents that.”
The members also spoke about what it's like to perform their music, which predominantly addresses the Black experience, for white audiences:
“When we started the band, we wanted to describe our experience to everyone. You know, the Beach Boys write about the beach, where they live. We live in South Central. When we started the band, we wanted to show everyone what we went through living in the city center.”
