Video: Body Count presents “Black Hoodie” at pre-Grammy event

The band was also nominated for "Best Metal Performance".

Body Count, the band led by singer, actor, and director Ice-T, performed at the event that takes place before the Grammy Awards ceremony last Sunday, the 28th, at Madison Square Garden in New York.

The band played “Black Hoodie,” a track from their album Bloodlust, released in March 2017. The song was nominated for “Best Metal Performance” alongside Mastodon, Meshuggah, August Burns Red, and Code Orange.

Although Body Count didn't win the award, Ice-T said during a red carpet interview that he was surprised by the invitation to perform at the event, "We were very excited (...) being chosen and nominated for the award is a great achievement for the band. We've been around for 20 years and we're very happy."

The album Bloodlust was produced by Will Putney (Miss May I, Upon a Burning Body) and features guest appearances by Max Cavalera, Dave Mustaine, and Randy Blythe.
