The band Bodom After Midnight , formed by Alexi Laiho after the breakup of Children of Bodom , released their first song this Tuesday, the 30th.
The guitarist and vocalist died on December 29th , at the age of 41, but he left the material for the band's first EP ready, including the music video for the track. Therefore, the group decided to move forward with the release of "Paint the Sky With Blood," the title track of this debut EP.
“Like us, Alexi was very excited about these songs and eager to release them, so we’re happy to be able to fulfill his wish,” said the band members (via Loudwire ). “Needless to say, we are honored and proud to be a part of his final creative work and to release it the way he wanted. It’s time to let the beast out of the cage once more as a celebration of Alexi’s music, legacy, and the man himself.”
Featuring another original track, called “Payback's a Bitch”, and a Dissection , the EP Paint the Sky With Blood will be released on April 23rd and is already available for pre-order .
