The renowned producer Bob Rock , best known for his work with Metallica , recently revealed to GibsonTV that he disagreed with "Enter Sandman" being chosen as the first single from the album The Black Album (1991).

Rock stated that he was surprised to learn of Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich regarding "Enter Sandman." The producer felt the song's lyrics were a negative factor, preferring "Holier Than Thou" for its energy. However, Rock eventually admitted that, even without his approval, the decision was excellent.
