Bob Heathcote, former bassist for Suicidal Tendencies, dies at age 58

The musician was part of the band in the late 80s

Bob Heathcote , former bassist for Suicidal Tendencies , died at age 58. The musician was part of the band between 1988 and 1989, having recorded the album How Will I Laugh Tomorrow When I Can't Even Smile Today (1989) and participated in three tracks on the following work, Controlled by Hatred/Feel Like Shit… Déjà Vu (1989), before being replaced by Robert Trujillo.

Reports indicate that the musician was the victim of a series of injuries caused by a motorcycle accident. The news was confirmed on social media by his son, Chris Heathcote.

The statement recounts the history of his father's career, as well as his personality. “My father, Bob Heathcote, left this world after 58 years and almost two months, due to a motorcycle accident. I can say nothing other than the fact that this is a loss from which I will hardly recover (if I ever do), and the fact that he was a hardworking father who raised five children, including me. His interests included music, travel, race cars, and going to racetracks. He was also a Dodgers fan.”

Heathcote left Suicidal Tendencies in 1989 to dedicate himself to his family.
