Blues Pills releases 'Birthday', new studio album.

This release marks the band's fourth full-length album.

Swedish band Blues Pills Birthday , this Friday, the 2nd .

In a press release, the band commented: “With this album we really let ourselves be free, leaving behind all boundaries and expectations to write songs we love. We wanted to capture the raw and authentic feeling of when we play live on an album, but striving to create and write the best work we’ve ever done. Elin [ Larsson , vocalist] was pregnant during the recordings, and what’s more rock’n’roll than that? To create human life and music.”

The band spoke with Wikimetal before the release and talked a bit about the change in sound on this album: “In the beginning of the band, we played a sound more reminiscent of the 60s and 70s. That more progressive, more psychedelic rock that was a big part of our references at the time, when we were younger. Nowadays we listen to other things, and consequently, our sound has ended up changing,” commented guitarist Zack Anderson.

Larsson added: "Of these four singles, we have songs inspired by ( David ) Bowie , but we also have inspirations from Gorillaz , for example."

Birthday was written and recorded at Recordia Studios in Sweden. The album took only 10 days to record and was produced by Freddy Alexander .
