Blues Pills released their newest single, "Top Of The Sky," this Friday, the 31st. The song is featured on their fourth studio album, titled Birthday ( 2024, BMG Rights), scheduled for release on August 2nd, 2024.
The third single may seem like a simple love ballad, but guitarist Zack explains that it's actually about going anywhere and doing anything to seek attention online. In a press release, he comments a bit more on his inspiration: “I was inspired by a documentary about an influencer in China who climbed buildings. He climbed a skyscraper and fell, dying while live streaming. This made me reflect on the era we live in, where people are chasing attention and likes on social media, willing to climb so high to try to find connection and approval online.”
Birthday was written and recorded at Recordia Studios in Sweden. The album took only 10 days to record and was produced by Freddy Alexander .
Blues Pills consists of Elin Larsson (vocals), Zack Anderson (guitar), Kristoffer Schander (bass), and André Kvarnström (drums).
