Blink -182 bassist Mark Hoppus revealed last Wednesday, the 23rd, that he has cancer and has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment for the past three months.

“I have cancer. It sucks and I’m scared, but at the same time I’m blessed with amazing doctors, family and friends to help me through this,” the artist wrote on his Twitter profile. He did not specify what type of cancer he was diagnosed with.

He also said: “I still have months of treatment ahead of me, but I’m trying to stay hopeful and positive. I can’t wait to be cancer-free and see you all at a show in the near future. Love to you all.”

Tom DeLonge , former guitarist and vocalist of the band, spoke out through his Twitter profile, saying that he already knew about Mark's struggle. "I've been aware of Mark Hoppus's cancer diagnosis for some time. And to add to the words he used today, I'd also like to say that he is strong and a superhuman who is overcoming this difficult obstacle with an open heart," he posted.

Drummer Travis Barker also commented on the matter, sharing a picture on his Instagram stories showing him hugging and kissing Mark. "I love you," he wrote in the post, adding a black heart.
