Blink-182 cancels participation in Lollapalooza Brazil 2023 and will be replaced by Twenty One Pilots.

Blink-182 has already confirmed its presence at the 2024 edition of Lollapalooza Brazil.

Blink-182 's participation in Lollapalooza Brazil 2023 has been cancelled. According to a statement released by the festival, the trio had to cancel all performances in South America and Mexico due to "health problems". The festival confirmed that the trio will perform at Lollapalooza Brazil 2024 and will be replaced in the 2023 edition by the duo Twenty One Pilots.

The group was confirmed as the main headliner for Saturday, March 25th, and was the first to sell out tickets for that day. Aware of the inconvenience, Lollapalooza announced that it will be offering refunds for Lolla Day, Lolla Comfort Day, and Lolla Lounge Day tickets to those who chose not to attend the festival (exclusive offer for those who purchased tickets for Saturday).

Information regarding the cancellation of blink-182 initially surfaced through columnist Léo Dias in the newspaper Metrópoles . Before the official confirmation, internet users noticed that vocalist Mark Hoppus deleted a tweet in which he said "I'm going to Brazil," and the band removed Lollapalooza from their Spotify tour schedule.

In early February, drummer Travis Barker announced on his social media that he had dislocated a finger and torn some ligaments due to the force with which he was playing drums during rehearsals. Last Monday, the 27th, he updated his social media saying that he would undergo surgery the following day.

In a video posted on Lollapalooza's social media, Tom DeLonge confirms that the reason for the cancellation is Travis's surgery and assures that blink-182 will be in South America in 2024. "The highlight of our career would be playing for you, so we want you to know that we are devastated," says the musician amidst an apology.
