Less than a month after blink-182 were scheduled to perform in South America, the trio was confirmed as an act at the Coachella Festival .
The announcement was made at the last minute by Tom DeLonge early this Thursday, the 13th. The band will play a 50-minute set this Friday, the 14th.
This will be blink-182's first performance with Tom DeLonge since 2014. The vocalist and guitarist left the band in January 2015 under confusing circumstances. In an interview with Rolling Stone , Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker claimed to have received an email from Tom's manager informing them that he was out of the band.
In October, blink-182 announced DeLonge's return , and their first shows together were supposed to take place in South America during the Lollapalooza . Unfortunately, all performances were canceled due to drummer Travis Barker tearing ligaments in one of his fingers.
