Blink -182 has announced a concert in Mexico for November 9th at Foro Sol, a baseball stadium inside the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City. The concert will feature Pierce the Veil and Petey .
The confirmation of the performance came on the band's social media and official website, where a link to purchase tickets . The show will take place months after the cancellation of a concert in Mexico that was scheduled for April of this year due to health problems.
Still recovering from cancer treatment, vocalist and bassist Mark Hoppus posted a message on his social media (via Billboard ): “I’m sorry! I’m very weak. The doctor said I shouldn’t even be here tonight. I’m dying, but happy to be dying here with you.”
Next, Hoppus shared more details about the illness (via Music-News ): “I consulted a doctor here and spoke with my doctor at home. I’m taking several medications and have spent the last three days in bed, except to go to the show. Until yesterday I hoped it was just allergies… I saw the doctors and they told me I had an acute throat infection and severe bronchitis.”
Mexico would be part of the band's first tour in Latin America. The group also played in Peru, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Paraguay, and Brazil. Their Brazilian debut took place at Lollapalooza, at the Interlagos racetrack in São Paulo . The trio played on the first day of Lollapalooza Brazil 2024.
