Album of unreleased tracks in 2017
In an interview with Spark TV, Blind Guardian vocalist Hansi Kürsch revealed the band's future plans. According to Kürsch, the band should release a live album in 2016 and an orchestral album of new material should be released by 2017.
“We are still working [on the orchestral album]. We will definitely release a live album in the middle of next year and we will continue with the orchestral album. I hope to have everything finished, including the mixing, by the end of 2016, but I doubt it will be released by then. It should be released in 2017.”
According to the vocalist, the songs for the album of unreleased tracks have been in the works for 20 years: "We were building these songs and we had new ideas, and they changed a little with each album we released."
Blind Guardian's latest album, "Beyond The Red Mirror," was released in January of this year.
