Andy Biersack , vocalist of Black Veil Brides , confirmed that the band already has a new album ready. The band is working on the follow-up to their sixth album, The Phantom Tomorrow, which was released in October 2021.

In an interview with Idobi Radio , Andy confirmed [transcription via Blabbermouth ]: “We’ve finished a new record. At this point, one song is fully mixed. So it’s very early. But we produced the record ourselves — Jake [ Pitts , guitarist] and I were kind of in charge of that — and it was the first time we’d done a self-produced record like that, at least of original material. We’d done re-recordings or things like that before, but this was the first time we… It was also devoid of a lot of outside vocals.”

Regarding the decision not to work with a producer, Andy explained: “For many years, you get to a point where you start… Your first record, you write the record together, then you record it and it’s released. And then you reach a level of popularity, if you’re lucky, and then people say, ‘You know what? We should put you with this producer.’ And then this producer has a way of doing things, and then you work with the next producer and they have a way of doing things. And then, the more you work with different people, the more the injection of their style becomes part of what you do.”

“[…] We were very lucky with our producers, but never in our entire career, from the beginning, did we have the opportunity to say, ‘We kind of know what this band is’ and ‘What would a record sound like if we made it and tried to use our best judgment?’ We didn’t want to go in there just to celebrate. I think sometimes that’s what happens when bands produce their own records. They’re like, ‘Everything we do is great.’ We worked very hard to make sure it was the best thing we could do, and I’m very excited about the result.”.
