Black Veil Brides releases new single “Certainty”, inspired by the film 'Conclave'

The band is working on a follow-up to their sixth album, 'The Phantom Tomorrow', from 2021

Black Veil Brides welcome the new year with the release of their dynamic and emotionally intense anthem, “Certainty,” accompanied by a powerful music video.

Formed by vocalist Andy Biersack , guitarists Jake Pitts and Jinxx , bassist Lonny Eagleton , and drummer Christian Coma , the band presents the single that will be part of their upcoming studio album.

“The concept of 'Certainty' is central to this record and appears throughout the entire album,” explains Biersack. “The music was inspired by the film Conclave , especially its reflections on religious certainty and how rigid belief systems can become prisons of our own making. When certainty crystallizes, curiosity, growth, and a willingness to change become impossible. Much of the current political and social discourse exists within these echo chambers of absolute beliefs, and this tension drives the narrative of this album.”

To accompany the release, Black Veil Brides unveiled a striking new music video for “Certainty,” directed by George Gallardo Kattah ( Chelsea Wolfe, Maneskin ) and filmed during the band’s tour of Colombia. With stunning cinematography and an intensity reminiscent of an A24 film (responsible for Conclave ), the video reflects the song’s themes and reinforces the bold visual identity the band has built throughout its career.

Andy Biersack added: “This was the last song written and recorded for the album. It all started with an idea Jake sent, and the song took shape quickly, over just a few days. It felt essential both narratively and musically, capturing the overall tone of what we wanted to convey. The music video, directed by George Gallardo Kattah and his team in Bogotá, Colombia, is one of our favorites we’ve ever made. His interpretation of fear and pride as biblical twins is impressive, and the visuals are incredible.”
