In a recent interview with Meltdown , Vinny Appice , former drummer of Black Sabbath , revealed that the band did not invite him to play at their farewell show .
According to the drummer, since he is "associated with Dio ," he wasn't invited to the celebration. Vinny reportedly played few shows with the band with Ozzy as frontman: "We must have played 10 shows, 12 shows, around there."
When asked about what it was like playing with Ozzy, he points out: “He’s pretty crazy. But you know what? He’s a lot of fun.”
According to the drummer, the Prince of Darkness doesn't pretend to be something he's not on television: “And what you see on TV, that's him. He'll tell you a story a few times. He'll forget he told you. You just sit and listen. 'Ozzy, you already told me that,' you can't say that. Ozzy was cool.”

The drummer joined the band in 1980 for the Heaven and Hell and appeared on the albums Mob Rules (1981) and Live Evil (1982).
At the end of 1982 he left the band with Dio to form DIO , leaving the band in 1989. He returned to Black Sabbath in 1992 for the Dehumanizer . Later he returned to DIO and recorded Strange Highways (1994) and Angry Machines (1996).
In 2006 he joined former Black Sabbath members Dio, Geezer Butler and Tony Iommi, going by the name Heaven & Hell. They released an album together, The Devil You Know , before Dio's death in 2010.
Currently, the artist is in Last in Line, which released the album Jericho via earMusic .
