The remastered music video for “Get A Grip,” a song by the legendary metal band Black Sabbath , arrived on YouTube this Friday, the 24th. Originally released as a promotional single, the track belongs to the 1995 album Forbidden . It is now part of a new double digital single by the band, alongside “Evil Eye” from the 1994 Cross Purposes
The initiative aims to celebrate the release of the box set Anno Domini 1989-1995 Tony Martin 's era as Black Sabbath's vocalist and will feature remastered versions of his albums. The musician joined Black Sabbath in 1987, leaving his mark by recording the albums The Eternal Idol and Headless Cross . His participation was interrupted in 1992 with the return of Ronnie James Dio . However, Martin returned to the band for a second phase, collaborating on the albums Cross Purposes and Forbidden .
Guitarist Tony Iommi shared his vision for the project in a recently posted video . “I was never happy with the guitar sound and Cozy [Powell] was definitely never happy with the drum sound. […] I just felt that, without changing any of the songs, there was an opportunity to go back and bring in some sounds and make them more like what people would expect Sabbath to sound like,” he stated.
The box set will be available starting May 31st. In addition to the remastered discs, it will include a Headless Cross and a replica of the Headless Cross Tour concert book.
